Bayan Kalysbekova is an artist from Kazakhstan.
She graduated from Oregon State University B.A. in Art, Corvallis, Oregon (2020). Bayan’s paintings are driven by her
interest in marine biodiversity and it's ecosystem as well as the traditional aesthetical exploration of nature around her.
Bayan also touches on topics of climate
change in her artworks. Her interest in realism style in paintings inspired by Berik Kulmamirov.
While studying at OSU, she has made the
Dean’s Honor Roll and is a 2019 recipient of the Ida M. Matsen Memorial Art Scholarship In 2018, Bayan showed her artworks
in an exhibition at the Newport Visual Arts Center, and also was awarded Best of Show at the State of the Coast “Sea
Grant Oregon” Conference. Also, while studying at university, Bayan actively involved in art events and exhibited at
the Printmaking Studio Show in the Memorial Union, the “Cascade Print Exchange” and West Gallery. One of her sculpture
projects, installed next to Waldo Hall, was featured on OSU’s official Instagram.
Recently Bayan became a new member of West
Side Arts Coalition in New York City, also member of New York Realism Fine Art.
