Textile Artist

Mr. Doniyorjon Askarov was born in 1987 in Margilan City, Uzbekistan. He is a fabric weaver, who can create original designs. Mr. Askarov has been a member of the Hunarmand Association of the Craftsman of the Republic of Uzbekistan since 2007. In 2017 he Graduated Ferhgana Politechnikal University, since 2007 He has been working at Margilan Crafts Development Center. Mr. Doniyorjon Askarov has participated many local and International Craft fairs such as Ikat Festival in Margilan City Uzbekistan in 2016, 2017, 2018, Tashabbus craft fair in Margilan City Uzbekistan in 2014, 2015, 2017, Training Program For Natural Dyeing in Ferhgana City Uzbekistan in 2015, Santa Fe International craft Fair in USA 2018, 2021, Field of Artisans in Rhode Island USA in 2019, Cherish the Moments Craft Fair in Rhode Island USA in 2019, The Providence Flea in Rhode Island USA in 2019, Arts and Artisans in Rhode Island USA in 2019, Vermont International Craft Festival in Vermont USA in 2019, he has also opened two online shopping www.ikathouse.com and www.ikatmarketing.com, nowadays Mr. Doniyorjon Askarov continuing his career in USA, Ikat is Malay-Indonesian word used around the World both for cloths and for the process of Textile - Patterning by Tying and Resist Dyeing the thread.  This ancient Uzbek traditional Ikat Making Technique consists of 37 Processes and all these Processes are Handmade, Ikat Fabrics are made of 100% natural Silk and Cotton in following types: - ***Adras ( 50% silk/50% cotton blend ), ***Shoyi ( 100% silk), ***Silk Valvet ( 100% silk or 80% silk 20% cotton), ***Bekasam (50% silk/ 50% cotton blend) His products in the exhibitions demonstrated his ability to reveal not only detailed understanding of the profession of designing unique fabrics, but also showing the whole Central Asian culture mostly on vintage pieces of art and new fantasy of colored silk and cottons to analyze the fineness consequences of the folk art. He gave a particularly interesting discussion of the history of Central Asian Textile Art and showed both sensitivity and refinement.
